Wesley’s 5th Birthday Bash

On Wesley’s Birthday we went to a kid’s Valentine’s pool party (it’s that warm here!) so we spent a chunk of the day doing that and then we hosted 2 of Wesley’s buddies for a sleepover. I figured that would be a nice way for him to feel like he’s having a “sleepover” without being away from home and it turned out great. Some other kiddos stopped by to play and for the cake and ice cream part. It was a long fun day!

First thing in the morning Wesley wanted to wear his Birthday boy ribbon, so sweet.

He picked out Transformers as his theme and I attempted to decorate the cake Grandma made with a Transformers face. The face part didn’t come out perfectly but Wesley loved it and it tasted great. Thanks Becca for the recipe!

We love you so much our sweet and smart Wesley Stone!

New Year Pictures

We had such a fun New Year’s celebration with our friends and all our kids (Preston stayed home with Grandma). I know I’m a little late in putting getting these up, oh well, there’s more in the January gallery.

Happy Valentine’s Day

I know things have been awfully quiet around here, my camera is broken so that’s a big bummer for me. I’m hoping we’ll be able to get it fixed sometime, but we don’t know how bad the damage is.

Thank God for camera phones that sometimes work (when the memory card isn’t displaced!).

Our sweet and feisty Wesley turns 5 years old today! He keeps teaching me new things about motherhood and has helped me to be less judgmental of people who are parenting dynamic children.

Now I can just smile and understand, so that’s been a real gift to me that I want to continue to nurture. Families need understanding and supportive people around them and I want to be one of those people.

Wishing you love and happiness on this beautiful Valentine’s Day!

Vitamin D

I recently found out my vitamin D levels are low and so started taking vitamin D3.

For years I’ve tried to be careful about the sun and almost always wear sunscreen when I know I’m going to be outside for extending periods of time, which is probably one of the reasons my levels were below normal range. I also don’t eat lots of meat, but I do eat fairly healthy most of the time.

Anyways I thought for those of you who are also really careful about the sun it might be helpful to read up on the symptoms and possibly look into getting your levels tested. The fatigue and irritability among other things caught my attention, ha!

I’m hoping to see some improvement in the next few weeks.

Stay healthy!

Blah January

January is an odd month in that I don’t want to do much of anything, but there’s still plenty of work to be done so I either have to get back into the swing of things or risk getting behind. How do you like January?

The few pictures I’ve taken this month have been on my phone.

Don’t let the photo fool you; twice when there was loud screeching from the tracks Devin threw himself on the floor, covered his ears while yelling, and acted like a dinosaur or some creature was attacking! Just a little embarrassing. We’re trying to work with him (and his brothers) on public etiquette, as they seem to put on their best “bad behavior” while out. I’m sure there’s some things that could help with this, any ideas out there?

Have a nice month as you get back into the swing of your normal routine!
